Delay Repay with AI
Claim Delay Repay with an AI agent
Your AI agent can register your train journeys, spot the ones that qualify for Delay Repay, and prepare each claim for you to approve. Free while in beta.
Yes, an AI agent can handle UK Delay Repay for you. Connect Muse, Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible assistant to Train Badger and it registers your train journeys, finds out from live rail data which ones were late enough to claim, and prepares each claim on the operator's website for you to approve. It is free while in beta.
What your agent does for you
- Registers your trains from your ticket confirmation emails or your calendar, each leg before you travel.
- Finds what you’re owed. Train Badger checks every registered journey against live rail data and tells your agent which ones qualify, with the operator’s claim link and, where a fare is known, the amount.
- Prepares the claim and shows it to you. It fills in the operator’s own claim form, files only when you say so, and marks it filed so it is never claimed twice.
- Answers “was my train late?” for any journey in the last 35 days.
How to connect your agent
- Create a free Train Badger account and verify your email.
- Add Train Badger’s MCP server,
https://api.trainbadger.app/mcp, to your agent. It opens a Train Badger page where you sign in and approve what the agent may do. You can disconnect it any time from your account.
- Give your agent this instruction:
“Connect to Train Badger's MCP server at https://api.trainbadger.app/mcp — sign me in when it asks. Each morning, pre-register the trains I'll take today. Whenever a journey becomes claimable, prepare the Delay Repay claim and show it to me before you file it.”
Using a specific assistant? See the step-by-step pages for ChatGPT, Claude and Muse. Any other MCP client works the same way.
Try asking
- “Was my 08:15 from Paddington to Reading last Tuesday late, and can I claim?”
- “Register tomorrow's 07:32 Berkhamsted to Euston for me — off-peak return, £24.60.”
- “Which of my journeys can I claim Delay Repay for? Prepare the claims and show me before you file anything.”
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need the Train Badger app?
- No. The iOS app records journeys automatically with live verification, but an agent can register journeys on its own.
- Which AI agents work with Train Badger?
- Muse, Claude, ChatGPT and any other assistant that supports remote MCP servers. Scripts and other tools can use a personal API key instead.
- Is it free?
- Yes. The Train Badger API is in beta, open to every account, with no subscription tier.
- Does my agent file the claim without asking me?
- No. Your agent prepares the claim on the train operator's own website and shows it to you. It files only when you tell it to, then marks the journey as claimed so it is never claimed twice.
- What does it need from my ticket?
- Only the journey facts: stations, date, departure time, ticket type and, optionally, the fare. Train Badger never needs your booking reference, ticket number or name.
- How long do I have to claim?
- Delay Repay claims are due 28 days from the day of travel for nearly all operators. Train Badger can look up any journey from the last 35 days.
- Which train companies are covered?
- All National Rail operators that run Delay Repay, including season and flexi tickets.
